adidas is committed to end plastic waste. Through many design explorations and collaborative capsules, the global sportswear brand continues to show what is possible when creating for a better tomorrow. It’s latest product innovation is the new adidas TERREX MYSHELTER PrimaLoft Hooded Jacket – a piece perfect for the outdoor extremes, keeping you dry and insulated from the cold while utilizing recycled materials.

“With this jacket, we have set out to create a product that combines sustainability with performance. This product is aimed at those consumers that love to get out and explore the outdoors, but who also care about the world around them,” said adidas OUTDOOR Design Director Birgit Freundorfer in an official press release.

The Fall/Winter 2021 jacket was developed with longtime partner Parley for the Oceans and material science company PrimaLoft resulting in a piece that combines the bold style and waterproof features of adidas MYSHELTER with fully functional outdoor qualities, while still being sustainably-minded. The Three Stripes jacket’s lightweight woven shell is made in part with recycled material and features a durable, breathable insulation PrimaLoft developed using ocean-bound plastic waste that Parley sources from coastal communities and shorelines. Two hand-zip pockets and an elastic hood complete the design ensuring comfort, style, and practical use for all wearers.

Under adidas’ technical sub-brand TERREX, discovering the intersections of outdoor performance innovation, reducing environmental impact, and stye is priority. All three elements are meant to be harmoniously balanced without compromise.

“Progressive partnerships like the ones we have with Parley for the Oceans and PrimaLoft have enabled us to push the boundaries of what is possible, resulting in our new FW21 jacket,” said adidas OUTDOOR General Manager Carla Murphy. “Partnering with like-minded brands and organizations enables the creation of innovative performance solutions that make an impact on helping to end plastic waste. This offers more choice for the consumer and drives towards a shared vision for a more sustainable future, for product, people and the planet.”
