Known for being originators in military style apparel, Alpha Industries has certainly made a mark fusing its heritage with fashion through various partnerships and lifestyle collections. However, it’s latest offering takes a step away from the hype of collaborations and provides a more conscious approach to its garments. The brand, which originally manufactured jackets for the United States military, is launching its “Mission Sustainability” campaign with an accompanying ORGANICS collection. Current efforts are only in Europe, however, we can expect this to rollout in the U.S. and globally soon as well.

The line features wardrobe essentials for men and women such as T-shirts, sweaters, hoodies, and joggers available in a muted palette of grey, beige, brown, and white. All items use organic cotton that has received a Global Organic Textile Standard certification. GOTS-certified organic cotton uses less water than traditionally cultivated cotton and is grown from non-GMO seeds while being free from pesticides, insecticides, or fertilizer. All embroidery found on the garments are made from 100% recycled thread.

Alpha Industries also took into account the packaging of the collection. Materials used to pack the ORGANICS pieces are plastic-free, biodegradable and made from 100% cornstarch, while hangtags are crafted from recycled paper.

The brand’s goal is to continue this Earth-friendlier approach throughout future collections. A line of circular knits is being developed with fabric certified by fabric testing group Oeko-Tex. Additionally, a new collection utilizing 100% recycled nylon and polyester materials made from pre-consumer fabric waste and fishing nets is also in the works.

Shop the new Alpha Industries ORGANICS collection now online if you are based in the EU.
