Copenhagen Fashion Week has unveiled all the details for its packed Spring/Summer 2024 edition, including the announcement of the designers under its NEWTALENT program and the winner of the newly announced Zalando Visionary Award.
This edition of CPHFW will be the largest ever, with 31 brands set to participate from August 7–11, 2023. Cecilie Thorsmark, CPHFW’s CEO, shared in a statement, “As our fashion weeks continue to grow, we must expand into the wider part of the week to allow ample time and space for the exceptional lineup we have planned for SS24. This growth symbolizes our organization’s global reach and reputation and we are incredibly grateful for the continued support of our partners and brands.”
Renowned circular material producer Circulose® continues to support four Nordic designers through CPHFW’s talent support scheme. Latimmier and P.L.N return from last season, joined by debut designers Nicklas Skovgaard and Rolf Ekroth. These brands receive extensive support across three seasons, including monetary assistance and onboarding to the show schedule. This year’s NEWTALENT “one to watch” slot has been awarded to MLGA.
Copenhagen Fashion Week and Zalando also announce the continuation of their partnership with the new Zalando Visionary Award. This award celebrates the future makers and allows designers to showcase their dedication to innovation, creativity and positive social impact.
The winner of this season’s prize is Paolina Russo, selected for the brands visionary approach and dedication to innovation through its vibrant and versatile knitwear collections that combine artisan techniques with industrialized manufacturing. As the winner of the award, the brand receives 50,000 euros and the opportunity to showcase its collection at the SS24 edition of Copenhagen Fashion Week.
Copenhagen Fashion Week continues to solidify its position at the forefront of sustainability within the fashion industry. It has committed to The Minimum Standards sustainability requirements, which are now mandatory from the AW23 edition. These requirements ensure that CPHFW brands take action across 18 minimum standards, focusing on areas such as Strategic Direction, Design, Smart Material Choices, Working Conditions, Consumer Engagement and Show.
