LOEWE’s sub-label Eye/LOEWE/Nature is back with its Spring/Summer 22 collection. With the creative direction of Jonathan Anderson, the diffusion line blends luxury craft with a focus on the outdoors. It’s practical escapism for the modern man. And, it uses repurposed materials, which is what we like to see.
This collection feels alive. ‘90s styled relaxed fits, bright colors and bold graphics come together with more practical, outdoors detailing. It’s perhaps not a collection to wear up in the mountains, but it’s certainly a fresh combination.
Parkas, knitwear, windbreakers, parachute blousons, sweatshirts, multi-pocket slacks, shorts and T-shirts make up the collection. Bright, almost fluorescent yellows, pinks and blues are paired with more earthy browns and greens. Clean, geometric graphics plus the super-cool LOEWE eye icon make the pieces pop. And technical outdoor detailing comes across in straps and utility pockets, and in the use of GORE-TEX in the parka.
Completing the collection are a selection of accessories including roll-top backpacks, fleece and leather bum bags, caps and quilted sandals.
In creating a collection inspired by the outdoors, the designers at LOEWE have also looked to protect the outdoors by using recycled and repurposed materials. Items such as the logo T-shirts are made with upcycled pieces from previous seasons, giving them a collaged and cut-together aesthetic. The bermuda shorts are made with upcycled canvas taken from military gear and feature their original pockets and buckles. And organic cotton, deadstock denim and recycled certified fabrics are used throughout the collection.
In another bid to protect nature, €15 EUR ($16.50 USD) will be donated from every product sold to a wildlife preservation project by Fundaciòn Global Nature.
