Nike has always been a proponent of a robust lifestyle that keeps sport at the pinnacle of our daily lives. With the 2022 football team collections, the brand highlights this culture of movement while embracing rich cultures of the Nike federation. Creating designs for countries like Brazil, Saudi Arabia, France, and more, the celebration of diversity reinforces a community that expands the globe. The detailed jerseys are available for men, women, and kids in an effort to expand this international narrative across all ages.
The technology of the kits is both mindful of the environment, and ready to execute any scenario on the field. The kits are underpinned by Dri-FIT ADV, Nike’s premier textiles that are engineered down to each pixel to provide venting reinforcement. The innovative fabric is a comprehensive result of computational design and ongoing data of how players stay fresh in movement.
As for the sustainable aspect of this technology, 75% of the entire Nike football collections are made with 100% recycled polyester – a first for the Nike Football extension of the brand. The initiative comes at a time when the brand is continuing to make strides towards Move to Zero. In recent weeks, the brand has made headlines for the release of Nike Forward – the new textile production system that results in a 75% reduction of carbon emissions. Though it may be a while until this process is adopted brandwide, the latest advancements from Nike Football are both noteworthy and community encompassing.
“Our new team collections represent the latest example of how we serve athletes with pinnacle product innovation from Pitch to Street,” said Scott Dixon, VP of Global Men’s Football in a press statement. He shared, “with 5 billion fans across the globe, no other sport brings people together more than football. That’s why we’re committed to bringing our best to the world’s biggest stage—and everywhere else—and building the most joyful, brilliant Nike football community ever.”
Moreover, the USA collection brings together these elements of collectivity. Drawing inspiration from generations of sport legacy, the uniform comes in a classic colorway of nostalgic colors. The jerseys feature timeless block lettering with a USA logo. Coming in a neutral white and an ice-dyed blue, the silhouettes standout with these vibrant constructions that celebrate diversity.
The majority of the federations’ collections are now available to Members Only with a general release of the full collections slated for September 21.
