Building on its brand pillars of collaboration, connectivity and compassion, Los Angeles-based POLITE WORLDWIDE drops a new collection of sunglasses with this ethos guiding the entire process.

Reconnecting with eyewear brand AKILA, this collection of sunglasses is made with a biodegradable acetate construction. Rather than utilizing plastic, this acetate is constructed from a cotton and wood pulp.

Using this material also means the frames are made from hand-cut sheets as opposed to machine molds. As a result the sunglasses’ environmental equity is also improved.

The TERRA sunglasses feature a square frame and are available in three colorways, ivory marble, blue and black. They also have UVA/UVB protection and come with a cork leather case.

Retailing for $150 USD, if you’re in the market for a pair of sustainable sunglasses you can find these on either of the brands’ website, politeworldwide.com and akila.com.
