Parisian brand Satisfy Running is all about chasing the high. The pursuit of “that elusive moment when running frees your mind and you reach a new level of consciousness.” Although its performance apparel will help you log miles on any track or treadmill, Satisfy wants to outfit you for even the most extreme, boundary-breaking runs. Its latest collection aims to push this ethos forward by focusing on one of the most extreme environments: the American Desert.

Fresh off the release of its Out On A Wire short-film, which documented a grueling 344-mile race from Santa Monica, CA to Las Vegas, Satisfy has released the “American Desert” collection as a way to help runners comfortably endure a wide range of elements including the boiling desert heat, and cool, salty ocean shore.
“In the desolation of the desert, the runner is incomparably confronted with the contents of their inner life and imagination. To highlight this quality of running — as an act of pure meditation — we have designed garments that enable the runner to comfortably endure the variety of conditions experienced in this harsh environment,” the brand says in describing the collection.

The collection consists of a race singlet, sleeveless muscle tees, tights, T-shirts, long sleeves, running shorts, and bandanas for UV protection. All pieces are inspired by nature and made using various eco-friendly ingredients, such as natural dye, recycled nylon, and technical seaweed-based fibers.
The race singlet is hand tie-dyed and made with perforated mesh fabric to ensure its breathability and fast-drying ability. The bandana is also hand tie-dyed and made using Japan-sourced cotton sourced. In terms of the light muscle tee and light T-shirt, each utilize the super-lightweight, fast-drying, and anti-order Deltapeak fabric developed by a Japanese textile company. Deltapeak is used by Satisfy because of its dual elements of being comfortable, silky smooth to the touch, while helping runners combat warm weather conditions.

Rounding out the tops of the “American Desert” collection are the Cosmetic T-shirts, muscle tees, and long sleeves that each feature Satisfy’s Cosmetic fabric made by blending organic cotton with seaweed-based SeaCell. One of the biggest positives for using SeaCell is the fact that the fiber still retains the nutrients in seaweed including iron, calcium, magnesium, and Vitamin E. When runners wear any of Satisfy’s Cosmetic pieces, one of the benefits is having their skin repaired through their sweat transferring SeaCell’s nutrients to skin through merely allowing the tops touch their bodies. SeaCell, which is completely biodegradable, is created by washing, drying, carefully grounding, and incorporating seaweed into a cellulose fiber produced exclusively using wood and more seaweed.

Additionally, the Cosmetic tops receive their color through natural botanical dye and feature screenprinted graphics by New York City-based Korean photographer Jungjin Lee. All of the T-shirts are perfect for any hard effort in the sun.
The collection’s bottoms include the short distance 8” shorts and the recycled 9” half tights. Satisfy’s proprietary Justice technology is highly durable in the short distance 8” shorts while having the lightness and feel of silk. It is used as inner lining for all of the brand’s running shorts and is both quick-drying and odor-free. The 9” half tights are constructed using high performance recycled polyamide fabric and are guaranteed to endure any high intensity conditions.
