With an ethos guided by innovation and sustainability, Christopher Raeburn returns in full force with Timberland for another collaboration inspired by the outdoors. The British designer first joined Timberland back in 2018 as global creative director, informed by renewable design processes. Finding his humble beginnings with reinterpreting surplus materials, Raeburn’s work has gone on to receive accolades from The British Fashion Council and lead him to craft collections with brands like The North Face.
It’s with his progressive “RÆMADE” philosophy that Raeburn approaches Timberland as a lead creative for Earthkeepers®. The latest collection demonstrates Timberland’s ongoing commitment to more eco-conscious releases. The brand’s pledge to use responsibly-sourced products results in the use of nearly 500,000 pounds of recycled rubber in its footwear every year.
As the designer shared on Instagram, “Every piece in the SS22 capsule was designed with a greener future in mind, taking only what we need and using it responsibly. And stylistically, we’ve drawn on the brand’s work and outdoor heritage, as well as the extensive archive we have at the RÆBURN Lab in London, to bring a fresh and progressive new look to the market.”
With Earthkeepers®, Raeburn pushes design boundaries through a range of apparel and footwear. The Earthkeepers® by RÆBURN GreenStride Edge EK+ Hikers comes in a neutral colorway with a minimal structured design. Crafted with Tencel™ x Refriba™ fabric made of 70% responsibly sourced wood pulp and 30% recycled cotton, the sustainable hiking silhouette is available for both men and women.
The apparel items include a number of utilitarian pants, shirts, and jackets. The Earthkeepers® by RAEBURN packable camo-print Anorak is a standout topcoat, with a modern take on the classic print. Features include a water-repellent fabric constructed with responsibly made cotton. With versatility top of mind, the jacket features multiple pockets and zippers for convenient packing.
