UGG and Feng Chen Wang Offer Up a Seasonal and Sustainably-Minded Collaboration

After debuting a sheepskin sandal for SS21 and a buckled-up boot for FW21, UGG and Feng Chen Wang have reconnected once again for Fall/Winter 2022. While their previous ranges consisted exclusively of footwear, their latest collaboration boasts a full apparel collection that’s sure to keep you cozy this season. As the old saying goes, “Third time’s a charm.”

Flawlessly fusing the American label’s signature style with the Chinese designer’s avant-garde aesthetic, the gender-neutral capsule is unapologetically utilitarian. Kicking it all off with the Short Jacket, this piece features a set of removable sleeves, meaning you can rock it as a vest if you so choose. Dressed in warm faux fur, it’s also lined with fleece so you can feel extra snug. If size matters to you, UGG and Feng Chen Wang have revealed a Long Coat too, which shows off the same comfy cues but in a mid-length silhouette. This version is painted in a lush black and green color scheme that’s giving us nothing but militaristic vibes.

Shifting the focus away from its outerwear offerings, the FW22 selection also plans to up your layering game with a multi-material hoodie that’s equipped with three pockets to store all of your essentials (well, most of them, anyway), a pair of comfortable cargos that flaunt a burly yet curly texture, and a ribbed beanie that’s crafted from 100% wool and lined with the fashion brand’s trademark UGGfluff fabric to keep your noggin toasty.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a cozy collab between these two industry icons without the addition of the UGG x Feng Chen Wang Sandal. Deconstructing the Cali imprint’s boots with the fur that T-Pain is oh-so obsessed with, these convertible kicks are inspired by the “dualism of yin and yang,” which is basically a fancy way of saying that you can wear them in three different ways. So, just like UGG’s Boot Guards that literally everyone is talking about these days, you can rock these through the sun, rain, wind, and snow with no dramas. Pretty neat, right?

The UGG x Feng Chen Wang Fall/Winter 2022 collection is available now in select retail locations and their respective webstores. As you may have already noticed, unlike the duo’s previous projects, this capsule drops the use of genuine animal hide in favor of faux fur, possibly to align with California’s statewide fur ban which is now in full effect.

In other news, Natural Fiber Welding, the plant-based textiles company responsible for the high-performance CLARUS and the high-end MIRUM, was recently crowned as PETA’s Fashion Innovator of the Year.
