The adidas Adizero range is pushing the limits with every release. The collection is designed for elite performance; for athletes pushing themselves to the edge and beyond. Ultimately, Adizero shoes are designed to break records.
In 2020, the Adizero Adios Pro 1 helped Peres Jepchirchi break the half marathon record. In 2021, 60% of World Major Marathon wins were by athletes wearing Adizero Adios Pro 2. Earlier this year, the ADIZERO X ALLBIRDS 2.94KG CO2E was released, becoming the collection’s lowest carbon shoe yet. And now, the Adizero Adios Pro 3 is here — who knows what records it might break.
Although not as eco-minded as the Allbirds collab, the Adios Pro 3 features an upper containing a minimum of 50 percent recycled content. It’s part of adidas’s wider goal to phase out all virgin polyester from its products. It’s a welcomed feature but we’ll always hope for more from such a big name in the industry.
In the midsole, you’ll find two layers of Lightstrike Pro foam plus ENERGYRODS 2.0 to dish out the cushioning as your feet strike the pavement on those longer runs. The outsole uses Continental rubber which keeps the wearer glued to the ground as they take corners at speed. The technologies combine stiffness and energy return to propel athletes towards their PB.
The kicks have a striking, asymmetric silhouette with a chunky sole. Colorwise, expect bright things with a combo of Beam Yellow and Solar Green contrasting against Core Black. The iconic Three Stripes run down the side in almost neon gradients.
The adidas athlete Amanal Petros is pumped to slip into the new Adios Pro: “We’re privileged to know first-hand how effective the Adizero can be when it comes to time and performance, so it’s been exciting to try the Adizero Adios Pro 3. I’ve really felt the speed, and the traction of this model. I’m hoping that I can continue to push my performance levels as I continue to train and race in the Adizero Adios Pro 3.”
Stay tuned for what records get broken, but also keep on the lookout for more Earth-friendly designs from adidas.
