As the fashion and footwear industries continue to shift their focus to attracting the increasingly conscious consumer, “e-tailers” like Farfetch are jumping out ahead of the crowd. Not only are they improving their search functions and reducing their carbon footprint, they’re also collaborating with key voices within the sustainable space to amplify a more environmentally-responsible message.
FUTUREVVORLD’s Editor-in-Chief, Daniel Navetta, aka @theairvegan, combined forces with FarFetch to build a curated edit of vegan sneakers from multiple brands and at different price points, aiming to offer up something for everyone. From Converse and New Balance, to adidas and Nike, FVV shines a light on some of the most hype releases from the past decade, as well as some sleepers you may have forgotten about. All in an attempt to raise the profile of animal-free, Earth-friendlier sneakers.
Among the 23 sneakers chosen are the obvious selections like Sean Wotherspoon‘s Nike and adidas collaborations, as well as Stussy‘s hemp-filled Nike Air Force 1. Then there’s some icons like the Nike Flyknit Racer and the adidas Ultraboost 4D Futurecraft. And how could we forget the Nike Roshe One or the recently-revived Air Jordan 1 KO?
This of course is not the only sustainable initiative from FarFetch. Earlier this month, the e-tailer launched Positively FarFetch — an ongoing platform that will spotlight conscious consumerism.
